Contextual Studies
Major Project Process
After considering a few topics, from fashion to graffiti design. I had a bit of a block in my train of thoughts. So I decided to turn away from the more 'urban' topics and try something new. My selected topic would be the Evolution of Architecture and Design from around the world because I feel that this topic is very interesting to me. It would also be beneficial me with more in depth knowledge of the world of architecture and design, which is obviously relevant to my aspiring future career. With this topic I will explore the different eras of art from the Stone Age right up to the present Contemporary era of our time. It will be a short film of how each era influences the one after it in one way or another. (and maybe it could predict what the future looks like?)
What makes it interesting?
It seems to be a pretty boring topic, doesn't it? But I believe there's a little artistic nerd in everyone. And it will be the challenge trying to educate the audience while keeping it interesting. With hopefully incorporating a bit of intrigue (and humour?) to keep their attention throughout.
UPDATE;
Being stuck in a mental block for about 2 weeks, I've decided to go pass this topic and move on to Mural Art in Malaysia.
Mural Art in Malaysia is surprisingly very common and very beautiful. But unfortunately, a lot of these pieces are not noticed by the general public because no one knows about it. So I've decided to base my documentary on this because I feel that it would be very interesting for the viewers based on curiosity and it might also draw more attention to the anonymous masterpieces.
One of the main locations I will be basing my documentary on is the Artsphere 20/8ty. It's a mural art park filled with a diverse collection of mural art.
It is located in Seri Kembangan, Selangor.
I've now begun planning out my video outline with this topic...
